    22 May 2014

Today is the official day for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea and South Australia’s politicians are uniting for a common cause with a joint morning tea at Parliament House.

Premier Jay Weatherill and Opposition Leader Steven Marshall will host a morning tea this morning from 9.00am at Parliament House to highlight the importance of supporting Cancer Council SA’s research, prevention and support services.

Last year, about 3,500 South Australians registered to host an event, together fundraising more than $1 million for Cancer Council SA.

Cancer Council SA Chief Executive, Professor Brenda Wilson, says money raised will improve cancer outcomes for the benefit of all South Australians.

“Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is such an important event to raise both awareness and funding for cancer research, treatment, prevention, and support initiatives.

“Every day, about 25 South Australians are diagnosed with cancer, which highlights the importance of raising funds to provide the much needed information and support.”

It’s not too late to have a cuppa for Cancer Council SA in May or June with your friends, family or colleagues. Simply visit www.biggestmorningtea.com.au or call 1300 65 65 85.
