Cancer Council SA is delighted to announce that Mr Lincoln Size has been appointed as the organisation’s new Chief Executive.
Mr Size has over 20 years of senior and executive management experience across diverse industry sectors, most recently Country South SA Medicare Local where he has been Chief Executive since 2012.
His leadership experience has been gained in industries including financial services, manufacturing & distribution, not-for-profit, health, welfare and the Arts.
Mr Size replaces Professor Brenda Wilson, who earlier this year announced her retirement after 12 years as Chief Executive of Cancer Council SA.
Cancer Council SA, Chairman, Kevin Scarce, welcomed Mr Size to the role and said he would make a valuable contribution to the organisation.
“We’re delighted to be able to appoint someone of Lincoln’s calibre to this role as we step up our efforts in the fight to beat cancer,” Kevin said.
“It was a strong field of candidates and we are very confident that we have a new Chief Executive that can continue on with the great work of the organisation.
“Lincoln’s enthusiasm and passion for the health sector will provide a major asset as we work tirelessly to help South Australians affected by cancer.
“Lincoln will oversee the organisation’s work to raise awareness of cancer prevention, offer a comprehensive range of cancer support services and provide funding to cancer researchers here in South Australia.”
Mr Size said he was thrilled to have been appointed as the next leader of Cancer Council SA and was looking forward to the new role.
“It is a great honour to be the new Chief Executive of an organisation that has a real impact on people throughout the community,” Mr Size said.
“I’m looking forward to getting started and working with the staff, volunteers, supporters and wider community as we continue to take action in the fight against cancer.”
Kevin also paid tribute to outgoing Chief Executive, Professor Brenda Wilson.
“On behalf of the Board, I’d also like to thank Brenda for her leadership and enormous contribution to Cancer Council SA,” Kevin added.
“Brenda leaves the organisation in a strong position and well placed to build upon the great results achieved in recent times.”
Mr Size will commence with the organisation on Friday 8 May and Professor Wilson will depart the following week.
