Getting your team involved in the fight to beat cancer

Every day 26 South Australians are told “you have cancer”. It doesn’t take long before every organisation is impacted by a cancer diagnosis either directly through an employee or indirectly through family members of employees, suppliers or clients. Often organisations are left wondering what they can do to show their support. Running a fundraiser is seen as an easy and effective way to show your support but there are other ways of making a difference.

Volunteering is a valuable way to engage an organisation in the fight to beat cancer. At Cancer Council SA we see volunteering as critical to both reducing costs and increasing our capacity by bringing in new ideas, skills and resources. We can provide opportunities for engagement through multiple channels, from brainstorming strategic opportunities to handing out free sunscreen. There are many different ways to engage a team and make a difference.

Different organisations have specific skills to offer and specific goals to achieve from a volunteering opportunity.  We try to tailor programs to meet your needs so we can continue to add value to the fight to beat cancer.
