It’s time to prioritise your health and as this week is Australia's Healthy Weight Week, the time to kick off has already begun!
Recent Cancer Council SA research indicates that approximately 57% of South Australians were found to be either overweight or obese in 2014. We know that being overweight or obese can greatly increase the risk of developing certain types of cancer including bowel, breast and oesophagus so we urge you to take control and do what you can to maintain a healthy weight!
Here are some tips to help you achieve a healthy body weight:
- Healthy eating - including eating more fruit and vegetables per day
- Limiting alcohol
- Being active
Not only do these things help reduce your cancer risk, they also benefit a range of other health issues, including heart disease and diabetes.
If you need a little inspiration to create home cooking that is fast and full of nutrition, download the free Australia’s Healthy Weight Week cookbook today.
